This year's "VH1 Divas" bill just got a bit feistier. Show vet and Miss Independent herself Kelly Clarkson has been added to the A-list lineup, as have divo rapper Pitbull, Melanie Fiona and Metric.
Clarkson has appeared on the show twice before, in 2009 and 2011. This marks the first time for the other newly announced performers.
They'll join host Adam Lambert and previously announced performers Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Ciara and Jordin Sparks.
"VH1 Divas" 2012 will air live on VH1 on Sunday, December 16, at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT when it all goes down in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium. In addition to the announced performances by all those divas both male and female, the show will pay tribute to late divas Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. Both performers had appeared on the show several times before their deaths earlier this year. More performers and presenters are expected to be announced as the show date approaches.
"This is going to be one hell of a party! We are extremely thrilled to have the extraordinarily talented Adam Lambert as our 2012 'VH1 Divas' host," Lee Rolontz, EVP of VH1's original music production and development, said in a statement. "The world has truly been inspired by dance music and what better way for VH1 to pay tribute than by honoring legends Whitney Houston and Donna Summer through song and dance."
