It looks Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen aren't the only familiar "X-Men" faces returning to the franchise for "X-Men: Days of Future Past." According to THR, Hugh Jackman is in talks to play Wolverine in the sequel to "X-Men: First Class." Should a deal get worked out, it would be the seventh time Jackman has played Wolverine onscreen, including the upcoming film "The Wolverine"; as fans remember, Jackman made a memorable cameo appearance in "X-Men: First Class," telling Professor X and Magneto to "go f--k" themselves.
"I was asked a long time ago if I would do a cameo, way before shooting happened," Jackman told Moviefone last year. "I said, 'Well, pitch me the idea.' They pitched me the idea and I remember saying, 'Does anyone else swear in the movie?' They said, 'No,' and I said, 'I'm in.'"
In addition to Stewart, McKellen and potentially Jackman, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" also brings back original "X-Men" director Bryan Singer to the proceedings; Singer, who was a producer on "X-Men: First Class," replaced Matthew Vaughn in October. "First Class" stars Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy will also appear in the increasingly packed sequel.
