Looks like Barack Obama plans to end his 2012 presidential campaign with a bang. Jay-Z will perform and introduce the POTUS at a rally in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday — the day before the polls open.

According to Politico, the outing — which will also include rocker Bruce Springsteen — is a key last-minute event in the swing state. And it's yet another chapter in Hov and Obama's relationship, which has included fund-raisers, lyric shout-outs and some good ol' advice on fatherhood.

MTV News caught up with Jay-Z a week after he and Beyoncé raised $4 million in campaign funds for the Obama camp with an event at Jigga's Manhattan-based 40/40 Club. "I support Barack because I gotta respect that sort of vision. I gotta respect a man who is the first black President ever," he told us. "To have that sort of vision and dream, I have to support that."

Never before has a hip-hop artist shared such a close relationship with the commander in chief.

"I'm still kind of numb about it. I can't figure it out, like, how this happened and this journey and everything that's going on," Jay said. "It's like way beyond the reach I thought hip-hop had. I knew it was the most powerful music worldwide, the culture itself, but it always amazes me the power that it has. Still, to this day."

"I've gotten to know these guys over the first several years. They're good people," the president said during a Cleveland radio interview in October. "Beyoncé — could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends."

With the election less than a week away, stick with MTV's Power of 12 throughout Tuesday's voting for results, analysis and reports from Chicago and Boston on election night.
