This weekend alone, the 23rd movie in the James Bond series made $156 million, bringing the total in the ten days since it premiered to $287 million. "Skyfall" had the biggest opening in Germany, where the film made $23.9 million, making it the biggest opening of 2012. It also made $7.9 million in Italy, $6.7 million in Spain, and $5.3 million in Switzerland. Comparatively, it is opening over 70% bigger than "Quantum of Solace" and 80% bigger than "Casino Royale." As of today, Sony Pictures Releasing International has made $2.16 billion this year. This makes it the most successful year the company has seen, trumping the previous record of $2.14 billion in 2009.
