There is no telling what the future may hold for Gunplay, but as of now, the Maybach Music Group rapper is out from behind bars.
NBC Miami is reporting that Gunplay, born Richard Morales, is out on $150,000 bond and is now on house arrest in connection with an April 13 robbery.
On October 10, Gun turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police on an arrest warrant, which was issued in May. He now faces armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault charges and was initially being held with no bond, but that was overturned Monday (October 22). "The state did not prove that Mr. Morales was a flight risk or a threat to the community," his attorney, Michael Grieco, told NBC. "He should be home with his family shortly. This is the first step in clearing his name so he can continue his emerging music career."
According to reports, an armed Gunplay robbed Turron Woodside, an employee at a Miami tax firm, for his chain on April 13. Video of the robbery has since surfaced on the Internet.
On October 12, MTV News obtained a clip of the rapper turning himself in to police. In the video, the "Rollin" rapper — who was dressed in a white button-down shirt and black dress pants, with a red and green Gucci belt — exited a white SUV with his lawyer and a few loved ones on his way to a Miami police precinct. The Rick Ross protégé then hands his phone off and removes his belt and multiple necklaces to a woman he later kisses goodbye. The rapper wasn't cuffed but was escorted to a vehicle by two officers and placed in the backseat before the video cuts off.
