As the breakout producer of "N---as in Paris," Hit-Boy's list of credits is impressive to say the least, but there's one thing the 25-year-old multiplatinum producer is still holding out for: a verse on a Kanye West track.
Hit-Boy produced two of four singles off the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, Cruel Summer including "Cold" and "Clique," as well as the track, "Higher" featuring The-Dream, Mase, Pusha-T and Cocaine 80s. The G.O.O.D. Music newcomer, however, told MTV News he was hoping for the chance to spit a few bars.
"I actually did a couple verses, but there was so much going on and so many different artists trying to get in there and do theirs that none ended up making this project, but I'm still in hopes that one day I'll rap on a song with Kanye West," Hit-Boy said.
According to Hit-Boy, Kanye West has been mentoring and helping to foster his burgeoning rap career. "This is just all a learning experience. I'm still growing and learning about myself as a rapper, as well, so I was getting certain pointers while I was in the studio working with Kanye. The stuff that he's told me, I'm applying it to what I'm doing now. And I know that my next stuff is going to be way better than everything you guys have heard so far."
In August, Hit-Boy dropped his debut mixtape, HITstory, showcasing his own production and rapping and he recently inked a deal with The Blueprint Group, which will manage his rap career.
