Charlie Sheen Blames Chuck Lorre For Angus T. Jones' Meltdown
Nov 28th 2012, 18:25

Former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen thinks Angus T. Jones is undergoing an "emotional tsunami" and believes the show's creator Chuck Lorre is to blame.

Sheen, who was fired from "Two and a Half Men" in 2011 after eight years on the show, spoke with TMZ about Jones' now-infamous interview with the Alabama-based church Forerunner Chronicles, in which he called the CBS sitcom "filth" and urged viewers to stop watching.

"Obviously, not having been there for some time, the Angus T. Jones that I knew and still love is not the same guy I saw on YouTube yesterday," Sheen told TMZ. Sheen played Charlie Harper, the uncle of Jones' character, Jake. "I dare anyone to spend ten years in the laugh-track that is Chuck Lorre's hive of oppression and not suffer some form of an emotional tsunami."

The 47-year-old "Anger Management" star also released a statement to People magazine, saying, "With Angus's Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear to me that the show is cursed." Sheen was referencing the Heaven's Gate cult, an extraterrestrial-centric religion, whose 39 members committed mass suicide in 1997 in hopes of reaching a UFO following the comet Hale-Bopp.

Sheen and Lorre have had a tumultuous relationship since the actor was fired from "Two And A Half Men" in 2011. Once was the highest-paid actor on television, earning about $2 million per episode, Sheen's own meltdown got him booted off the show.

Sheen's public breakdown included alleged drug use, erratic behavior, sex with "Goddesses," and lots of "winning." He also blasted the CBS series, calling it a "pukefest" and the producers "Nazis." After his firing, Sheen's character was written off "Two And A Half Men" and he was replaced in the cast by Ashton Kutcher.

Lorre has insisted he has his actors' best interests in mind, saying during Sheen's meltdown that "on a certain level, if you're looking the other way, you're responsible."

As for Jones, his family and friends haven't blamed Lorre. They are reportedly concerned Jones is being exploited by the church. "His mom is really worried and in contact with the producers of the show," a source told E! News. "The main concern is that he is going to give away all his money to the church. It's like he's been brainwashed. Everyone is shocked and very concerned."

The 19-year-old actor has since apologized for his controversial comments.
