The network will still complete production and air the 13 episodes in its original order, but the series -- which starred Meryl Streep's daughter Mamie Gummer -- will not receive a back nine. It's a bad day to star in a female-led medical show, as Fox also announced that the final episodes of "The Mob Doctor" would air on Mondays and Saturdays over the winter hiatus -- in other words, it's being burned off to make way for more promising series during the regular primetime schedule. According to THR, "Emily Owens" was the lowest-rated premiere of the fall -- its latest episode sank to a 0.3 in the adults 18-49 demo, down 25 percent from its last airing. The CW's other freshman dramas, "Arrow" and "Beauty and the Beast" have already received full season orders. The news was first reported by Deadline.
