The American Music Awards beefed up its performer lineup on Tuesday (October 30) with the addition of a trio of major acts. Pink, Carrie Underwood and Pitbull will perform on the 40th annual show, which will air live on November 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
The trio join an already announced list
of superstars that includes Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park and Christina Aguilera. More performers and presenters will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
Minaj and Rihanna lead the star-packed field of AMA nominees with four nods apiece, followed closely by Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 4 and One Direction with three. Chris Brown, Fun. and Gotye are also in the running with two nominations.
The online pre-show will stream live starting at 5 p.m. ET/PT and will be hosted by Lance Bass, Kimberly Cole, Brad Goreski, Sean Kingston, Eden Sher and Tristan Wilds, as well as the Nokia correspondent Andy Grammer. The live show will be available on ABC.com, AMAs365.com, Cokemusic.com, Livestream, Ustream and YouTube.
AMA noms are based on broadcast airplay and online popularity, the latter of which will certainly play a big role in determining just who wins: Fans can vote for their favorites in all 20 categories (including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male and Female Artist and Favorite Band, Duo or Group) through AMAVote.com and AMA.abc.com.
