As massive storm Sandy (downgraded from hurricane status once it hit land late Monday) continues to wreak havoc on the East Coast, she's leaving a multitude of cancellations in her path.

In addition to the previously announced interruptions of presidential campaigning, TV and film production, the latest casualty is night one of Jimmy Kimmel's week-long series of tapings in Brooklyn, New York.

Kimmel took to Twitter to make the announcement to his fans. "Though it pains us to do it, JKL from #Brooklyn tonight is cancelled," he wrote. "I'm disappointed too, but we want you to be safe."

Kimmel's show wasn't the only late-night talk show affected: "The Late Show With David Letterman" and "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" were forced to tape their episodes without their usual live studio audiences, while Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert over at Comedy Central chose to take Monday night off.

No word yet on whether tapings will resume as scheduled on Tuesday.

Freedom to Love Now!, a benefit concert for marriage equality that was set to feature Fun., Rufus Wainwright, the National and other artists, has been postponed from Tuesday night to spring 2013, according to a press release. Billboard reports that concerts from Journey (Brooklyn's brand-new Barclays Center) and Grouplove (Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club) have also been canceled for Tuesday.

The New York City premiere of "Anna Karenina" — the film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic book, starring Keira Knightley and helmed by her "Atonement" director Joe Wright — has also been set back by Sandy, Entertainment Weekly reports. The film premieres in Los Angeles on November 14.
