For so long, Meek Mill has dreamed of a fruitful career in rap, hoping to successfully sidestep the nightmarish pitfalls in the streets. Well, the time is drawing near, and on October 30, Rick Ross' fiery protégé will drop his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, but before that, the Philadelphia game-spitter will bring his talents to "RapFix Live" on Wednesday.
The last time Meek sat on the red couch, he was flanked by his Maybach Music Group family, as they promoted their June compilation LP, Self Made Vol. 2, but now, with Dreams and Nightmares on the way, the 25-year old MC is going to shine on his own. It's a spot that Meek's MMG running mate Wale has been in before, having dropped two solo albums. "It's an intense time, it's a special moment," Wale told MTV News at the taping for the BET Hip Hop Awards on September 29. "I told him to embrace it, man. He's in a good spot; he's making incredible music."
The Ambition rapper isn't the only one excited about Milly's debut. "I'm excited about the one with Nas," DJ Drama told MTV News of "Maybach Curtains," a reflective street spiritual that features not only Nas, but Rick Ross and John Legend as well. Rozay and the Queens rap icon aren't the only friends who will help Meek achieve his dreams: Drake, Wale, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige all appear on the upcoming album.
"RapFix" fans will also be treated to a recap of the week's hottest hip-hop headlines and exclusive interviews and get put on to some up-and-coming talent during our "Get in the Game" segment.
Catch Meek Mill on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. PT on "RapFix Live," on RapFix.MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists @MTVRapFix!
