The 64-year-old actor, who played the beer-guzzling "Norm" on the hit television series "Cheers," checked into the hospital due to chest pain. The medical care has forced Wendt to leave his current role as Oscar Madison in the Northlight Theatre production of "The Odd Couple," in Chicago. He is expected to make a full recovery. "George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery. He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage," "Odd Couple" director B.J.
