Comedic actor Bob Odenkirk has appeared on one of TV's most intense dramas for four seasons now as flashy criminal lawyer Saul Goodman, who represents Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul).
Stepping onto "Breaking Bad" was intimidating enough for Odenkirk, but playing the comic relief terrified him.
"I was wondering, 'What the hell are they doing hiring me for this?'" Odenkirk said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I wouldn't have been surprised if I showed up on set, and they said, 'Oh my goodness, no, no, we wanted the other Bob Odenkirk, the one who does dramas.'"
But Odenkirk has become a series favorite, and his love of comedy hasn't waned.
While promoting "Breaking Bad" on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon," the actor gushed about late comedian Chris Farley.
"Chris was very genuine," said Odenkirk, who has appeared on "Saturday Night Live" and written for "The Ben Stiller Show" and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien." "A lot of people in showbiz do that, and they're faking it... but Chris was absolutely, genuinely a sweet guy." For more on Odenkirk, head over to Rolling Stone.
