With the live shows just a few weeks away, "The X Factor" seems to have finally locked in their hosts for the second season, and to the surprise of very few, the honors are reportedly going to Khloé Kardashian and Mario Lopez.
Lopez has signed on the dotted line to take over for Steve Jones, who hosted the inaugural season, TMZ reported on Tuesday (October 16). E! News has confirmed that Kardarshian will join him, marking the first season the show has two hosts.
"I've always wanted to do hosting or talk-show hosting, so it's definitely something that I would love to do and would be honored to do," Kardashian told E! News in August. "To be on such a huge show like that with those judges, I would have so much fun doing that."
Lopez is no stranger to hosting gigs, as he anchors the entertainment news show "Extra" as well as MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew." Kardashian, on the other hand, is known in the reality TV world with her family's hit series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," but has limited on-camera hosting experience. Kardashian has hosted two radio programs in the past, one in Miami and one in Dallas, but according to Simon Cowell, her lack of experience is what he likes most about her.
"I know whom I would like, but now I have to get it approved by the network," Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres in September. "We have screen-tested a load of people. ... It could be a Kardashian. I think that would work. I'm quite a fan of not putting [experienced] hosts on this show. Because I think it's going to give it a different dynamic. So we have to find people who have a great chemistry, but Khloé is definitely up there in [the] running."
Fox would not comment on the reports when contacted by MTV News.
