Snooki and Senator John McCain forged an unlikely friendship back in 2010 after they both agreed that no tax should be placed on the use of tanning beds. Well, it seems two years later McCain still has love for the "Jersey Shore" star, sending her some well-wishes as she embarks on life as a new mom to her son, Lorenzo.

"And I want to say to Snooki, I miss you. I hope you're happy. I hope everything's fine with your baby and I wish you'd get rid of some of those jerks you're hanging around with," he told MTV News earlier this week. "But that just comes from an old geezer that doesn't understand a lot of that lifestyle."

Want to know what Snooki has planned for Lorenzo for Halloween? Read here!

Snooki gave birth to Lorenzo back in August, and the Senator wanted to relay another message to his pal, this time one that was a bit more politically driven. He added, "Congratulations again to her on the addition to the family and I still agree with her that we should never, never tax tanning beds. That was one of the worst things about Obamacare that could possibly have happened."

MTV News caught up McCain on Monday night in Boca Raton, Florida, during a crucial time in the election cycle, ahead of the final debate between President Obama and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Now, with less than two weeks before Americans can cast their votes, the President will sit down with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET (tape delayed PT) for "Ask Obama Live: An MTV Interview With the President."

In the half-hour special, Sway will sit down one-one-one with the president while also Andrew Jenks will be on the ground at a college campus in Washington, D.C., with a group of young voters. You can submit your questions for the commander in chief beginning by hitting up the MTV Facebook page.

It's all part of our ongoing "Power of 12" campaign, which aims to engage the 45 million 18- to 29-year-olds eligible to vote in this election (making them the largest potential voting bloc in the country). MTV's "Ask Obama Live" will mark the first time in this campaign that either candidate has focused directly on those young voters' top concerns, including jobs, the cost of college, rising student loan debt and social issues like LGBTQ rights and immigration.

Be sure to submit your question for the president here.

MTV has also invited Obama's opponent, Mitt Romney, to participate in a similar live special, and hopes to conduct a sit-down interview with him in advance of Election Day on November 6.
