"The X Factor" seems to have just that: Simon Cowell has confirmed that the Fox series will be back for a third season. The judge confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, "I wanted you guys to be the first to know that FOX have confirmed that @TheXFactorUSA will be back next year for it's third season. It was important for you to be the first to know because it is thanks to your support and enthusiasm we are coming back. I want to personally thank each and every one of you, it is hugely appreciated and never forgotten."

It's unclear which judges and hosts will come back for season three, but the show is certainly known for its shakeups. Currently the lineup includes Britney Spears and Demi Lovato at the judge's panel alongside Cowell and L.A. Reid. Spears and Lovato replaced season one judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Additionally, the show's newest hosts, Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will kick off their gigs in November. They replaced Steve Jones, who left after the first season.

The same day it was announced that the show would be back for more fun, its rival program, "The Voice," announced it has plans to air three nights during Election week, November 5, November 7 and November 8, which means that the NBC show will air the same nights as the "X Factor" for two evenings that week.

When both shows kicked off earlier this fall TV season they also went head to head, and Cowell shared why he thinks the "X Factor" is a superior viewing choice over "The Voice."

"It is a better show," Cowell said back in September. "The show has been going for seven or eight years. It's my favorite show. This [premiere] episode is the best we've ever made, especially with the girls [new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato]. The show just looks better, and that's the reason 'The Voice' did what they did... They're trying to stop you from watching it. It may backfire on them."
