MTV News visit set of band's latest video, which Jack Antonoff says will show fans the 'harsher realities' of what their lives are like. By Emily Blake

When fun. tore onto the charts in 2010, they did so smashing liquor bottles and starting inebriated fights with their rambunctious "We Are Young" video. Now, after five months on the road with "no days off," while still young, they have no problem admitting they've gotten older.

In their upcoming video for "Carry On," they're returning home to New York City and finally relaxing. When MTV News caught up with the band on the set of their latest clip, they gave us a taste of what we'll see when they take out "explosions and gunshots" and give fans an honest look at their lives.

"The idea is for the story to be the truth -- playing a show, hanging out, getting dinner with friends. It's more of the reality of what we're going through these days," frontman Nate Ruess said of the clip.

In a teaser posted on the band's website, we see the trio gallivanting around an almost eerily empty New York City. (They even shut down the notoriously bustling Grand Central Station to capture shots). And for Ruess, there was nothing more "beautiful" than coming home.

"This video is a harsher look of the realities of what it's like to be fun --- not in a sad way, but in a very honest way," Jack Antonoff said.

The guys recorded the video the day after a show at Terminal 5, and footage from the concert is also included in the clip to provide what Ruess called a "stark contrast" to their everyday lives.

"This video is like watching a train come unrailed," video director Anthony Mandler added. "In a good way."
