Since breaking through with back-to-back hits "We Are Young" and "Some Nights," Fun. have used their newfound status to champion marriage equality and LGBTQ rights.

And now, they're taking the next step, by launching the Ally Coalition, a non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness — and funds — to aid the LGBTQ cause.

The Coalition — which is a partnership between the band and guitarist Jack Antonoff's fashion-designer sister Rachel — will rely on donations and membership fees (you can join for as little as $5) to create programs aimed at educating arts communities and the general public on LGBTQ issues. But, as Antonoff states in an open letter posted on the organization's site, it also will serve as a support system for those who feel isolated and alone in their everyday lives.

"There are so many people out there who want to go on record and make a statement as an ally, but don't have a place to go out and do it," Antonoff writes. "I've spoken directly with so many people at shows and online about how hard it is to make a statement when you don't have anyone in your corner ... the Ally Coalition is a place where we as allies can make our statements and make them clear, together."

Members can make their voices heard by uploading photos and videos to the Coaltion website, explaining why they're united in the fight for equality. Antonoff and his Fun. mates have already posted videos of their own, letting it be known that "the time is now for all of us to stand up against the second-class treatment of LGBTQ people."

Fans can also get involved by tweeting their support @AllyCoalition, or liking the Coalition on Facebook.
